When I wrote these letters in 2020, I had no idea what they would be or how much impact they would have on readers. I was in the shower one day in the thick of the COVID-19 lockdown period when the thought “came” to me to share some of the experiences that had impacted me at different points in my life — more on this in Letter 1: Shower Ideas. The three-month period during which I shared the letters with an intimate audience of about 100 readers was one of the best seasons of my life.
Fast-forward to 2024, I knew it was time to open up the letters to the world.
I’ve often wondered if the Apostles knew they were writing the Bible when they wrote their letters to the churches. I imagine that at least some of them didn’t, and they just wrote as the Holy Spirit inspired them. I say this not to imply that my letters are scripture but to highlight the impact that shared experiences can have.
I hope these letters bring you as much comfort reading them as writing them brought me.
